Principal’s News – April 2018
Don’t be too critical towards your child’s exploration of the Internet
Children may come across adult material by accident on the Web. Also, a child may intentionally search for such web sites; remember that it is natural for children to be curious about off-limits material. Try to use this as an opening to discuss the content with them, and perhaps make rules for this kind of activity. Be realistic in your assessment of how your child uses the Internet.
Spring is finally here, and it’s the perfect time to “spring” some new ideas on the family. We all want what’s best for our children, family, friends, etc…
Here are some ideas on how to “grow” a healthy eater.
Granite Elementary has been working this year to implement a culture of GRIT and perseverance. Granite staff and students are preparing to do hard things. To be problem solvers. To engage in life and not give up. Each month we want to share with you some ideas and tips for building gritty students at home. This month’s tip is to set aside some time to discuss with each family member his or her own interests. What is something they might want to explore or learn more about? Write them down and discuss how you might be able to support each other in exploring or expanding their interests. Maybe post the ideas on the refrigerator or a common space in the house. Then schedule some time to engage in their interests.
