Principal’s News – October

Come join us on October 10th from 6-7:30pm for Family, Fitness, & Fun! Granite Elementary, with the support of our School Community Council, would like to kick off family night at Granite with fitness and fun. Yoga, Pilates, wall ball, basketball, four square, jump rope, sidewalk chalk, and many other activities will be available for your entire family to participate in. You can purchase a Chick-fil-A meal for $6. Please bring cash or check. We look forward to seeing you there!

Quick tips to keep you in the Granite groove:

1. Be strong: 15 minutes a day working with free weights can make a huge difference in your health.

2. Be mindful of rest. Those who get 7-9 hours of sleep each night tend to be closer to their target weight.

3. Be vigilant in eating the right foods. Ditch the poor quality white foods like breads, rice, pasta, sugars and flour. Healthy white foods include egg whites, cauliflower and fish.

Our annual Halloween parade will be at 9:15am Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Please be seated in the gym/cafeteria before 9:15am. Masks may ONLY be worn during the parade. Also, weapons or facsimiles are not permitted on school premises.

Please remember to follow our drop off and pick up procedure. For safety reasons, please drop off your student in the drop off lane only. We do not want students crossing through traffic and among cars. Your students need to exit the car on the driver’s side of the car toward the sidewalk. Please do not ask our Safety Patrol to move the cones for you to enter the parking lot. You will need to use the south entrance.
