Spring is here! The weather is getting warmer. Please be of our dress ode and remember that shorts/skirts need to touch the tips of the students finger and that shirts must be over the majority of the shoulder.  Hats may be worn during recess time.  Students are encouraged to bring water bottles to school to keep them hydrated.

As posted last month, the enrollment at Granite is on the decline. Our neighborhoods seem to have more students in secondary schools than elementary. Next year our enrollment will be around 400 students, which will leave us with 14 general ed. teachers. This is one teacher less than this year.  Due to seniority, Mrs. Butterfield has been transferred to another school teaching 5th grade.  As we are sad to see her go we wish her the best.  Miss Walker will be teaching 5th grade next year.  I am completely confident that she will be a fabulous 5th grade teacher and look forward to what technology she will use to enhance learning.  As of right now this is our only staffing change.  As always, thank you for your continued support.

We still have a few weeks left of testing.  Please remember to check with your students' teacher for a testing schedule and make every effort to coordinate appointments, vacations, etc. around the schedule.

2013-2014 had been a great year.  Your involvement is key to the success of our students.  I appreciate all that you have done to make this year wonderful.
