To enhance their study of Utah History, the 4th grade went to This is the Place Heritage Park on a field trip. They stepped back in time and saw Utah as it was in the early settlement. They rode Jupiter Train and had a tour around the park. They interacted with the blacksmith and learned how he makes his tools for the town. His stove gets up to 3000 degrees! They attended the Pioneer School where the students wrote their names using the Deseret Alphabet and also learned how naughty pioneer students were disciplined. One of the highlights of the day was getting to push and pull handcarts up and over rocky hills. It was wonderful experiencing life in the 1800s.
