What is too sick for school?
Tis the season for viruses and sniffles. I know it’s tricky to decide when to keep students home and when to send them back to school – especially for working parents like myself. We want students to be at school as much as possible, but if they can’t participate in daily activities, they should be home. Kids must be home when they:
- Have a fever (100.4+) with symptoms of illness
- Have a fever over 101
- Have an excessive cough (can’t speak or move around without coughing)
- Strep throat (until 12 hours of antibiotics)
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea that may cause accidents
