Read, Talk, Wonder, Solve!📖 Stories about the work people do can help children build vocabulary, background knowledge, and an understanding of how people contribute to their families and communities. Talking about jobs and everyday work also gives children opportunities to ask questions, make connections, and explain their thinking. This conversation can also be connected to the anniversary of 9/11 and Constitution Day next week.💬While talking with your child this Labor Day weekend, ask:“What is a job that helps our family or community? What would happen if nobody did that job?”Take the conversation deeper:What skills does that person need? What might be difficult about that job?How does their work help other people feel?Which do you think would be hardest to replace? |
