Calendar meeting dates -second Monday of the month at 4:15 in the library and also online

Covid procedures and updates-No mask mandate at this current time. If a child tests positive for covid, they will follow the health departments guidelines, quarentinve 10 days. A letter will go to the kids that were exposed in the classroom and at the lunch table. Those families can choose to keep the child home (7 days and then a negative test or 10 days) or they can send them to school in a mask. This is up to the families. District is updating the covid dashboard twice a week. 30 positive cases of covid would close Granite down for a quarantine process. We follow the District. Deep cleaning on Wednesdays.

Back to School Night flyer-Katie is going to set up a table and a poster to let parents know what SCC is and how to join.

New committee members – We need a new co-chair -Natalie was nominted and approved as co-chair.

PTA-PTA will present the budget for approval at Back to School night on 8/24.

Safety – August Fire Drill-happened on August 23rd. Took the kids 4 minutes 6 seconds to exit the school. This is good considering they did not have these last year.

September Fire Drill

Still working on staffing issues. Kindergarten is low in numbers. Ronnie turned numbers in for 6 day count on Monday. Waiting to hear what the District says back to us. Still looking for a TSSA aid. Next month we will be discussing budget, goals, and update on FTE’s.

This year the District was supposed to implement Second Stepts – a social, emotional, learning program the district purchased. Our school has been doing parts of this for the past several years once a month with Ms. Stolfa. The district has asked all schools to pause the roll out. There is going to be a full audit of the program. A middle school teacher in Draper resigned over having to implement this program into his teaching. It is very important that teachers stay neutral in the classroom. Teachers jobs are to teach kids how to think and problem solve. If people want to review the second steps program they can go to their schools to review it. Because of copy right issues, it is not readily available to pass out to the public. Neutrality and kindness is our motto.

Landtrust budget and goals update: 80% of students in Kindergarten-3rd grade will make at least typical progress according to Acadience Pathways to Progress. 80% of students in 4th and 5th grade will be at proficient or higher in Reading Inventory (RI) by the end of the year. 84% of students are reaching benchmark according to Acadience math assessment. Our goal is to maintain and/or increase 1-2% proficiency.
