March 14 or 3.14 is known as Pi Day in the math community as the date is the same as the first 3 numbers in Pi. Mrs. Z’s class celebrated this day by participating in various Pi activities. The students made beaded bracelets that represented the first six numbers in Pi. They played a variation of the fun dice game: Pi Tenzi where the winner was the first one to roll the first 10 numbers in Pi. Her class measured round objects testing the formula that circumference divided by the diameter equals Pi. They also solved logic puzzles about this infamous number. And of course, no Pi Day celebration would be complete without a delicious piece of pie!
