February’s Digital Citizenship Tip: Try planning a device-free dinner! Taking a break from devices is proven to have positive benefits for kids, from better nutrition and focus at home to fewer problems at school. Learn more about the benefits of device-free dinners at commonsensemedia.org/device-free-dinner.
Career Day Volunteers Needed: We are asking for volunteers to speak about their careers, so come share your expertise with our students! Click the link https://cnyns.org/3mcn67M for more information and to sign-up. Thanks for your support. We look forward to seeing you there!
Parent Teacher Conference Sign-ups: It’s time to sign up for parent teacher conferences! Please book your appointment in Skyward starting on Monday, February 6th. Sign ups will be open through the 17th. Conferences will take place on March 1st and 2nd. We’ll also have our biannual Books & Bagels event on Tuesday Feb. 28!
February’s Character Trait: In February will be learning about the importance of taking responsibility. Being responsible means that you will do what you are supposed to do and that you’ll accept the consequences of your actions. Mrs. Ross will read “What Would Danny Do? School Day” by Ganit and Adir Levy to grades K-2, and “Oh,The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss to grades 3-5.
Student Council Food Drive: Our student council is sponsoring a food drive to spread some love and much-needed canned goods this month. Student council’s goal is for each student to bring 5 cans of food. Cans will be collected between February 13th and 17th. The upper and lower grades that collect the most cans will earn a treat from Student Council! Bring those cans and share some love. Thank you!
Kindergarten – If you or anyone in your community have a kindergartner next year, please reach out to our office to register. Families interested in supplemental kindergarten can now apply at ksih.canyonsdistrict.org
