On Monday November 13th the 5th grade students enjoyed a guided tour of the Utah State Capitol Building. The architecture is beautiful. We learned that the gold we saw on the ceiling is real, and came from mines in Utah. Our students have been studying government, and were interested to see how each branch, legislative, executive and judicial, had a place in the building. We saw the rooms where the senators meet as well as the house of representatives. There was also the governor’s office, and the supreme court. Volunteer parents helped our students explore collections and learn more about our great state.
