Action Items

  • Safe Walking Route

A request for a crosswalk at 3100 East and 9800 South. Another crosswalk on 3100 East in front of the school, by the bus lane is also needed.

2024-2025 Plan: Crosswalk painted from main crosswalk to parking lot, running north/south

Crossing guard to help cross on 3100 South and parent driveway, east/west.

Add flashing School Zone light on 3100 E. and 9800 South.

New developments need walking routes or bus routes.

Katie Dahle motioned to approve the safe walking route and Christie Taylor seconded the motion. All in favor.

  • Digital Citizenship Plan

School filtering system is adequate. Most alerts are from misspelling of words. Very low problem.

School has provided enough information about being a good digital citizen.

Students will participate in Digital Citizenship information during Morning Meeting.

Request to change Digital Citizenship week to a five day week to emphasize importance.

Teachers will review the importance of digital citizenship and where information can be found.

More information available during Wellness and STEAM night.

Post information on Parent Square about Digital Citizenship so parents can support at home.

Advantage that Think Safe is consolidated in one place and provides plenty of information for parents. Can be overwhelming with all that is presented. Suggestion: One page summary available for SCC and parents.

  • School Safety Plan

Updates to the school parking lot have been helpful Not having cars and buses both crossing the main crosswalk has been much safer. Painted crosswalks at each driveway because they are on our safe walking routes has been requested.

Kindergarten gate has been approved.

Granite cameras were updated.

Requests:

A fence put on the top of the wall by the kindergarten area to limit access to the playground and for safety reasons. Students are running and flipping over the wall.

Close gates at both catwalks during school hours.

Signs that state that access to school grounds is prohibited between 8:30-4:00.

Change poles at front of school and by cafeteria to a chain link fence.

Katie Dahle makes a motion to approve and Stacey Noble seconds. All in favor.
