US News Utah’s Top Ranked Elementary School Badge

Grizzly Growl: August 22, 2025

Dear Granite Families,

The first week of school has been filled with excitement, laughter, and the joy of learning. Our classrooms and hallways feel complete again with the energy and smiles of our students. Teachers and staff have loved reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones! We also got to welcome the class of 2038 to school – wow!

It’s going to be a wonderful year, and we’re grateful to partner with you in helping every child grow and succeed. As always, thank you for supporting our wonderful school community. Please reach out anytime with questions or feedback.

Warmly,
Elcena Saline

PBIS Rotations

Thursday and Friday mornings our Grizzlies went to each part of the school. We learned how to follow the GRRR in each part of our school.

GRRR means:

Granite Grizzlies Are:

Responsible

Respectful and

Ready to Learn

Please ask your students how they follow the GRRR in the cafeteria, on the playground, in the restrooms, hallways, and at arrival and dismissal. Students can also show you the actions that go with saying the GRRR!

We also shared with students all the ways we appreciate and recognize their positive behaviors.

  • Gratitude
  • Sense of personal pride
  • Positive Notes Home
  • Book Vending Machine tokens
  • Game Room Time
  • Bear Paws & Bear Paw stores
  • Slushie & Popcorn Parties monthly
  • Class dance parties
  • Class activités or recess

PTA Information

We loved meeting so many of you at Back to School night! We anticipate a great year.

We want our Granite PTA to be a place of community for all of us. As a PTA board we will work hard to make that happen, but we can’t do it without help. We need three things from you.

First, we need you to join the PTA (moms AND dads). To join our PTA, follow this link: https://granite.givebacks.com/.

Second, please volunteer as your schedule allows. We have amazing parent-led programs that help to make Granite such a wonderful place to go to school – things like Book Blitz, Field Day, or the Fun Run. Some of you signed up at Back to School night. If you didn’t get a chance, watch for sign up geniuses later this year. Volunteering for PTA events gives you the chance to connect with other parents at the school and become a valuable part of this community.

Third, we need your financial support. We have one fundraiser per year and it’s coming up at the beginning of September. We’re so excited to put on great programs this year and need your donations to make them possible.
