SCC Business

  • Every SCC member needs to attend district training
  • Organize SCC
    • Elect chair (Julia Sorensen) and vice chair (Matt Box) -approved motion Matt Box, 2nd Michelle Schmidt, passed unanimously
    • Appoint a secretary (Brittany Fenton) who will take notes- approved Matt Box motion, 2nd Stacie Zizakis, passed unanimously
    • Review rules of order and Bylaws (should be posted on website). Update as needed by vote of the body and everyone become familiar with. Post on website – approved, no changes
    • Set meeting schedule for the year and post on website-2nd Monday of each month, 4:15- Next Meeting October 13, 2025.

    • Review last year’s LAND Trust plan, whether goals were met, how money was spent. May write preliminary final report.
    • Review current year’s plans: LAND Trust, TSSP, Safe Walking Routes, Positive Behavior Plan, School Safety and Digital Citizenship- Table reviewing these plans because we have many visitors. Elcena Saline motion, 2nd Alli Booth
    • Review Technology Committee recommendations and Board decisions – no electronics used for free time or rewards, search history flags automatically emailed to parents, new CSD 3 strike rule is in effect. Landschool is used by each teacher.
    • Receive School Safety report and Digital Citizenship report from district and begin discussion-Everything is on hold because of school changes. We can resubmit when plans are no longer on hold.
    • Begin writing School Safety Plan, Digital Citizenship and Safe Walking Routes (only elementary and middle) plans = Due November 1 Start writing these at the next meeting because of the amount of visitors that would like to make public comment.

 

Principal Report

  • Enrollment 273 students
  • FTE- we should have 10 teachers, we were given 12, we are down 50 students, we are at 273.
  • Attendance- Climate goal because last year half were at risk for attendance. Update- we have incentives for attendance and so far we are doing very well. The goal is 93% attendance. Students can be excluded from class reward percentage for long-term illness or diagnosis. We will take care of this case by case.

 

PTA Report

  • Struggling with our fund raiser, people are uncertain about the changes and might make this difficult.
  • Hoping to increase the numbers we have- tell people that the funds are used and the money follows students with school closures.

 

Visitor Comments:

  • Katie Dahle-Gave all the reasons why the boundary changes need to change.
  • Parent visitors shared their opinion on why they oppose the boundary change for the neighborhood below Eastdell Dr. between 9400 and 9800.
  • Matt Box Motion to close, Christie Taylor 2nd, motion passes unanimously
