Dear Granite Families,
Thank you for your steadiness as we went into a Secure yesterday. Our staff and community stayed calm, and all students and staff remained safe. We quickly got students indoors form recess and everything inside remained as normal as possible. We are grateful that our school resource officer and Sandy PD responded quickly to ensure we were safe able to resume normal activities. If you have any questions about our safety procedures and preventative measures, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Student Council Sucker Sales!

Once per year, our student council sells suckers to earn money that they use to give back to our school. This is an opportunity for our student council to engage in leadership and service to Granite.
Students may, with parent permission, buy up to 5 suckers per day for $1.00 each. Suckers will be sold from 8:40-8:55 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week. Students may not resell suckers to peers.

Learning Environment Request Forms

At Granite, we know that building balanced classes are essential to creating a positive andproductive learning environment. When building class lists, we consider a variety of factors—including academic, social, and behavioral strengths—to create well-rounded classroom communities.
Your child’s current teachers play a key role in developing next year’s class lists, using their deepknowledge of each student to help guide placement decisions. If you have specific educational concerns you would like considered as we assign classes for next year, please come into our office to complete this form. The form is due by May 2nd, 2025.

PTA Information

Granite families!It’s hard to believe the end of the year is so close! We are excited to announce it’s time for our annual spirit wear design contest!Entrees are due Friday, May 2. They need to be turned into the office or emailed to BridgetLSmith@gmail.com. A few things to remember are:-The winning design will be used for our spirit wear tshirts next year and the winner will get a free hoodie!-This contest is open to students at Granit Elementary only–no adult or parent work is allowed- Designs can be drawn by hand or created digitally- Good designs are simple, include big shapes and not very many details or text-Designs may include no more than 2 colors and will be printed on a solid colored shirt- A panel of judges will select 2-3 finalists and the student body including faculty and staff will vote on a winner
