Attendance Resolutions for the New Year

The start of a new year is a great time to reflect, reset, and create routines that help our children thrive. One meaningful New Year’s resolution families might consider is building simple, consistent systems at home that support regular school attendance.
  • Set a consistent bedtime and wake-up routine to help children feel rested and ready to learn.
  • Prepare the night before by laying out clothes, packing backpacks, and reviewing the next day’s plans.
  • Create a calm morning routine that allows time for breakfast and connection before heading to school.
  • Talk about the importance of showing up every day, helping children understand that attendance builds confidence, friendships, and learning.
  • Plan ahead for obstacles by having backup transportation or childcare plans when unexpected challenges arise.
Small changes can make a big difference. As we welcome the new year, thank you for partnering with us to help students start each day feeling prepared, supported, and excited to learn.
If attendance is tricky in your home, please reach out to us so we can work together to help with any challenges you have.
