Principal’s News: February 2020

Be nice to each other, it’s really all that matters!

There’s a new buzz in town….Intuitive Living! Up for the challenge?

Exercise because you like a stronger, more energized YOU!

Eat foods that make YOU feel good.

Eat when you’re hungry and until your satisfied, but not stuffed.

Enjoy your food…savor every bite.

Eliminate guilt and diets (they’re dumb and don’t work anyway).

Eventually you will find, you might lose weight and feel better.

In continuing the 5 basics to cover during “the talk”, number 4 is:

  • Think before you post. Use privacy settings.
  • Younger kids: Help kids understand what sharing something online means. Ask: Who can see what you’re doing or saying online?
  • Older kids: Encourage kids to pause before they act. Ask: What are some questions you can ask yourself before you share something online? Have you ever regretted something you’ve posted or said online?

STEAM night was a huge success! Thank you to all who participated and attended.

We are still missing three IPODS used for the Google Cardboard activity. All the cardboard devices were returned and three IPODS went missing. If you have any information please contact the office ASAP.

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for February 26th and 27th. Beginning February 10th you can log into your Skyward Family Access to schedule your appointment. More information will be coming.

Setting boundaries isn’t an alternative to loving your children.  It is a means of loving them.  Be connected to them, reassure them on how much you care.  Be with them in their joys and sorrows, even in their anger and disappointment in you for setting boundaries.  This contact enables them to grow. Stick with your boundaries, be fair but consistent, and empathize with your child’s emotional reactions. Your children need to be concerned about the pain of consequences for irresponsibility, the rights and wrongs of their behavior, and what pain their actions may cause for others. Help your children to freely choose and freely love.  Remember to love first, set limits second!
