Since March is the month for tiny Leprechauns, I thought I would give you a itsy bitsy list of small things you can do every day to become much healthier:
1. Drink 2 cups of water upon rising in the morning
2. Down I Tablespoon of full fat plain yogurt (gut health)
3. Stretch for 10 minutes
4. Do a plank for 1 minute
5. Embrace sunshine for 15 minutes
6. Silence phone at night.
7. Eliminate electronics 2 hours before bed.
8. READ 10 minutes before sleep
May the luck of the Irish be with you!!!
Parents know firsthand the impact a poor night’s sleep has on kids. Lack of sleep can contribute to crankiness, problems with attention and learning, behavior issues, and even health problems such as obesity. Though the reasons for poor sleep vary, there’s growing evidence that media and technology interfere with bedtime routines and sleep. In March, we are learning about taking initiative. Victor Hugo, the French writer, said that initiative is doing the right thing without being told. When you show initiative, you take action. You do what needs to be done even if it isn’t your job. You keep going when there are setbacks, and you watch for and take advantage of opportunities that others pass by. This month, Mrs. Ross will be reading and discussing “The Dog Poop Initiative” by Kirk Weisler to all grades.
The website https://raisingchildren.net (links to an external site) states: Work-life balance is the relationship between your work and the other important things in your life, like your family, sport and social life, household chores, volunteer commitments and so on. If you feel like you have enough time for all of these things in your life, you probably have a good work-life balance.
And when you have a good work-life balance, you’re more likely to have the mental and emotional energy to give your children the loving attention they need to develop, learn and thrive.
A well-balanced family life can also help you enjoy life, manage stress, and prevent burnout at work.
Your children need regular quality time with you. Quality time can happen in a quick and unplanned way most days – it’s about making sure that even short interactions with your children are focused and loving. Quality time can also be longer and planned. For example, you might set aside an afternoon together with your children each weekend.
