On Monday, September 26, the first graders were treated to a presentation on fire safety from the Sandy City fire department. We learned about what signals to listen for, what can alert us in case of a fire, and what to do to stay safe. We learned how fire fighters help us, and different tools they use when fighting a fire. We also learned the difference between a fire engine and a fire truck. The fire department brought their fire engine and at the end of the presentation, the students went outside and were able to see inside it, see the actual tools and hear about how they use the various tools to help put out fires and where things are located on the fire engine. It was enjoyable and informative and we appreciate the Sandy fire fighters for coming and all they do to help is keep us safe!
