Second graders are champs! Students are learning that sentences need to have details included. We need to write descriptive sentences that give enough detail for readers to be able to completely understand and picture what’s happening. To help students remember this valuable writing skill, we refer to it as 7UP sentences because our sentences should have at least 7 words. To reinforce this concept further, students were able to drink 7UP while they completed their first assignment that required 7UP sentences. What a fun way to link a concept that we will practice and refer to all year. Cheers!
