Mrs. Mulqueen welcomed the students to their first assembly in over a year! After reviewing assembly expectations, the PTA covered three exciting events happening in the next month at our school. It was an extended assembly and the students did a fantastic job of being respectful, participating appropriately, and listening.
The Reflections contest theme this year is I will change the world by….
Students watched a short clip for inspiration and many were ready to take on the challenge of creating something. Entries are due Oct. 1st.
Meet the Masters is back. The artist this month is Jacob Lawrence. Students learned about his life. Did you know he was not only an artist but also an Olympian? Students learned that he did many of his paintings about his life in Harlem. Ask your child more about the life of Jacob Lawrence. They will be creating art inspired by Jacob Lawrence.
The Fun Run is coming. Students were so excited to have the Fun Run back to normal and enjoying it with their grade level classmates. There was an added burst of excitement when they heard about the prizes and how to earn tickets to win those prizes. The Grand Prize is a trip to Moab. Wow! The Get Air prize was the most well received by the students and the cheers were deafening (in a good way). Other prizes include a birthday party at Tiger Rock and 2 months of free music lessons. All of the many prizes were generously donated.
Special thanks to Granite PTA. They work hard to give our students wonderful opportunities.
