  • Steam Night Feedback

Kids loved the activities. Hot Wheels needed more cars. Need more back up batteries on LIttle Bits. The stamp card was positive for both students and parents. Nice that there were so many stations so kids were spread out. Liked the diversity of new activities.

  • Begin writing TSSP and LAND Trust plans for next school year.
    • TSSP will be worked on by school and goals/direction shared with SCC for input.
    • SCC will write and develop a LAND Trust plan to address one or more academic goals from TSSP.
    • Doing well with reading goals. Most grades have met their goals or are on track to meet their yearly goal. Setting up supports to help grades reach goals.
    • Half the grades have met their goal. Others are on track. Most classes have had improved data.
    • Due to state reading goals, we need to maintain reading as a goal.
    • Focus on student engagement for next year at Granite for teachers and students.
    • State is updating new math standards. Goal to have a new math curriculum adopted for the district for 2026-2027 school year.
    • Question: How do they change math standards? There is usually a vertical change going both ways–upper/lower grades changing standards.
  • Final report for previous year’s plan due to be submitted by principal to School Performance by end of January.
  • Review current year’s LAND Trust plan, data, expenditures, and review if on course or if amendments are necessary.
  • Looking to lose 1 teacher at Granite next year. We will be down 20-25 students from this year. District as a whole is down 25% in student enrollment since 2014.

Principal Report- Kids love the game room and the popcorn/slushie days. Brain Booster Grizzly award allows students to pick a stick with a number and write their name on the Principal Wall. When a row is filled, students whose names are in that row get to go to the game room for 15 minutes on Monday mornings. Grizzlies of the Week get that reward also.

PTA Report- Book Fair the week of 2/24. Read-a-thon during the month of March.

Christie Taylor motioned to adjourn the meeting and Allison Boothe seconded the motion.

Next Meeting: March 10th

Guest remarks are limited to 3 minutes
